What’s Happening at the NonProfit Center
In addition to providing a physical home for progressive change organizations, the NonProfit Center strives to strengthen and enhance the broader nonprofit community through its offering of services and programs.
NonProfit Center tenants have full access to all programs. Public programs are also regularly scheduled to involve nonprofit staff whose office space is not located within the building. All programs are intended to support nonprofit organizations and staff by providing opportunities for discussion, collaboration and learning. Most programs are offered at no charge.
NonProfit Center programs intentionally address a wide range of topics to inform our diverse stakeholder base. Past programs have included:
-
Choosing and working with email/web hosts
-
A workshop entitled Active Listening: Improving Your Ability to Listen and Learn
- Media Bootcamp for NonProfits: 10 No-Cost Tactics to Win Coverage
-
A conversation about fair trade with the founders of Green & Black’s Organic
-
Tips for safe, fun biking in Boston
-
A workshop for parents of pre-teens and teens, “Let's Be Honest”
-
Best practices for “green” marketing
-
Networking events with the Boston Nonprofit Network
Recognizing the need for all involved in progressive change to take an occasional break, the center also regularly schedules yoga for the workplace, walking groups, knitting/stitching circle, movie screenings and book club discussions. The NonProfit Center plans canned food and clothing donation drives and supports a Community Supported Agriculture farm share program.
