Saving Energy and the Planet with Renew Boston

Renew Boston is now open to Massachusetts renters, homeowners and landlords outside of Boston living in 1-4 unit buildings with NSTAR and/or National Grid accounts.

A Money Saving Program for Your Constituents and Staff

Third Sector New England’s NonProfit Center is partnering with Renew Boston to help residents save energy and money. Your organization’s constituents and staff may be eligible.

A program of the Mayor’s Office of Environmental and Energy Services, Renew Boston provides free building energy assessments and upgrades to qualifying residents and businesses. In addition, Renew Boston provides qualifying residential customers with free efficiency upgrades including insulation, air sealing, water saving devices and high-efficiency light bulbs.

Helping Homeowners and Boston’s Nonprofit Community

The NonProfit Center is taking part in a limited-time Renew Boston referral program that specifically serves homeowners:

• Living in one- to four-family residences
• Earning 60 to 120% of the area median income

Those who qualify will receive a free home energy assessment and up to $3,500 in energy upgrades. But those interested need to act now because referral program benefits will only be available for the first 1,500 referrals who have completed eligibility requirements and a home energy assessment.

By participating in the referral program, the NonProfit Center will also be able to provide enhanced programs for NPC tenant organizations and other nonprofits in the region. Renew Boston will pay $50 for each qualifying referral who receives a no-cost home energy assessment, up to $500. The funds will support training, education and events at the center.
